Larry Sanger is an American internet project developer and philosopher best known as the co-founder of Wikipedia. Born in 1968, he played a crucial role in launching Wikipedia in 2001, working as its editor-in-chief and setting up many of its foundational policies. Sanger later distanced himself from the project, criticizing its reliability and neutrality. He went on to create Citizendium and other knowledge-based platforms. Holding a PhD in philosophy, Sanger has been an advocate for decentralized information and internet freedom, frequently speaking on the ethics of online knowledge sharing.
