David Bowie was an English singer, songwriter, actor, and cultural icon known for his artistic innovation, distinctive visual style, and continual reinvention. Over a career spanning more than five decades, he explored a wide range of genres, including rock, pop, soul, funk, electronic music, and art rock. He became especially famous in the 1970s through his alter ego Ziggy Stardust, a theatrical persona that helped redefine the relationship between music, performance, fashion, and identity. Bowie’s work was marked by experimentation and a willingness to challenge conventions, both musically and visually. Albums such as The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Station to Station, Low, “Heroes”, and Blackstar are considered major contributions to popular music. His influence extends beyond music into fashion, film, performance art, and broader popular culture, making him one of the most important and influential artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

QUOTES

Quote
Religion is for people who fear hell, spirituality is for people who have been there.
Quote
Don’t you love the Oxford Dictionary? When I first read it, I thought it was a really really long poem about everything.
Quote
I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring.
Quote
If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.
