Golda Meir was a prominent Israeli political leader, serving as the fourth Prime Minister of Israel from 1969 to 1974. Born in Kiev in 1898 and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she immigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1921, driven by her Zionist beliefs. Throughout her career, Meir was known for her straightforward style and her role in foundational Israeli state-building efforts. She held various significant governmental roles, including Minister of Labour and Foreign Minister. As Prime Minister, her tenure was marked by the Yom Kippur War of 1973.
