Helen J. Swift is a Professor of Medieval French Studies and an Eleanor Boyle Fellow in French and EDI Fellow at St Hilda's College, Oxford University. Her interdisciplinary research spans the late medieval and early modern periods, with a focus on vernacular literature, history of the book, and visual studies of text-image relationships. Notably, her second book on identity construction and narrative voice in late medieval France was highly commended for the Society for French Studies R. Gapper Prize in 2017. In addition to her individual research, Professor Swift has contributed to various collaborative projects and held key roles in convening interdisciplinary programs at Oxford.
