Sofía Serpa Arango is a Colombian-Austrian artist based in London working across painting, sculpture, and textiles. Her multidisciplinary practice explores identity, cultural liminality, and non-belonging through whimsical, autofictional worlds shaped by a palimpsest of cultural influences, including Colombian costumbrismo, Germanic fairytales, and American Western imagery. Using materials such as walnut wood and hessian alongside toy-like aesthetics, she employs kitsch, repetition, and camp theatricality to examine memory, childhood, displacement, and human existence.
